Keep Me on My Toes

Keep Me on My Toes

Last week, I heard an interesting comment at a meeting I attended.  The speaker said something to the effect that one of the gravest mistakes an organization can make it to operate under the illusion that all is well. This made me stop and ponder.  Does that just mean we shouldn't be negligent?  That we should be watchful of our finances?  Our employees? Our competition?
Or did he mean we shouldn't be complacent?  Not rest on our laurels, so to speak? After contemplating, I believe it means all the above.  If we ever get lax or lazy, things will slip. If we become too confident or cocky, we will certainly be humbled.  And if we become complacent, we cease to improve and grow and eventually regress.  Thomas Edison is quoted as saying "We shall have no better conditions in the future if we are satisfied with all those which we have at present."

So, I guess I am determined to never be satisfied!  Seriously, this is why I am constantly asking you, my customers, what you'd like to see me offer.  I never want to become stagnant and complacent.  Keep me on my toes!  Tell me what you want!
